LHGC Rules Refresher
Rules gathered from past years of club newsletters
- Falling plates are NOT for Magnum handguns, centerfire rifles, or centerfire rifle calibers in handguns
- Do not post anything on target frames but paper targets, Please do not shoot the target frames
- No alcohol on any of the ranges
- Shooting from the garage: Raise the red range flag on the upper range, close the lower gate, after verifying no one on lower range, and open the gate immediately upon finishing shooting out of the garage. November through March the garage will be available on the 3rd and 4th Sundays from 8 am till 12 noon. Anyone wanting to use the lower range without a scheduled match must yield to the shooter in garage for range control. The garage may be used at other times provided that no one wants to use the lower range, Other than dates and times above shooters in the garage must yield the lower range. Please be CORDIAL to one another and try and work out the use of the facilities to fit each others needs.
- Members may make a complaint against other members for violating club rules and unsafe firearms handling, Please refer to your copy of the BYLAWS ARTICLE 4, MEMBERSHIP SECTION 4
- Please watch the background of your line of fire we do not want the bridge damaged by bullet impacts.
- Please watch the background of your line of fire in the lower range, if you see a vehicle, tractor, persons over the 200 yard berm. CEASE FIRE IMMEDIATELY!
- Please do not fire Rifle Grenades on the range!
- Please do not use .50 Caliber BMG on any of our Ranges
- Work hours can not be credited unless you turn in a slip at the front desk, Probationary members must have all 12 of their work hours in due to working ; Club Work Day, Club Events support, Match events
- When multiple ranges adjoining are being used, Always be aware of who else is on the property and where your firearms are pointing, while in use or while they are at rest.
- Please do not place Clay birds on the TOPS of the berms for target practice, shooting the top of the berms damages them and bullets could be going anywhere.
- Steel Silhouette targets should only be used in proper locations at the base of a berm and fired at with only cast or soft round nose bullets.
- Any Member that engages in full-auto firearms, please be safety conscious and LEGAL when doing so on the Clubs property, their use is limited to the 1st IPSC bay with the targets not to exceed 4 feet in height
- Any Member finding target stands, range equipment, club equipment in non working order, or if it breaks while in your use, please do not leave it and forget, advise a club officer of the problem so that it may be repaired as quickly as possible for others to use, no shame in breaking club equipment, shit happens!
- Sponsors of new applicants do not assume that just because we have vacancies that their inductee should show up at the next meeting following the application, the club secretary will notify you and your inductee in advance of which meeting to attend
- If you want to adjust the thermostat, please lift the face cover and use the up/down controls only, please remember to reset the thermostat back to 50* in the clubhouse or in the garage.
- Anywhere a member goes, especially on club property, with a guest, at a match, please adhere to good sportsmanship and safe firearms handling. You are representing Left Handers Gun Club
