Muzzleloading Rifle Matches

Beginning Saturday, September 11, "traditional" muzzleloading rifle matches will be held on the upper range at 9:00 AM on the second Saturday of each month, weather permitting.

Initially, all matches will be fired from the offhand position at 25 and 50 yards. The course of fire will involve two paper targets and 10 shots at metal targets, for a total of 20 rounds fired for score. Any flintlock, wheel lock or percussion blackpowder rifle firing a patched, round lead ball is permissible, so long as it has iron sights (No scopes, no conical bullets). Some shooters may turn up in "period" dress but it is not required. A match fee of $2.00 will be charged, with half going to the club and half to the match winner.

If you have any questions, please contact match officers Jim Leinicke (525-3725) or Bill Weedman (793-5066).
